To My Friends.
There was an article in Saturday’s Wall Street Journal titled “Six Months That Shook The World.” The six months that we have just passed through have been tumultuous indeed. Independence Day is just three days away. Time to reflect. One of the pillars upon which our country is built is freedom of conscience; the freedom to go against the grain if we so choose without being forced to conform to someone else’s ideology. Abraham Lincoln said it best: “The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.” Food for thought my friends. I hope that you have had a great week and that we can find renewed purpose in this, the 244th year of our independence.
Sincerely,
Mark Holland
